TEL AVIV – An internationally renowned Muslim cleric from India published a claim that the Islamic State was created “by Jews, Christians, Western powers, and Islam’s enemies,” MEMRI reported.
In a lengthy piece entitled “ISIS: You Are such [a Friend] Who Even Leaves Behind the Foe,” Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani claims that the U.S. created al-Qaeda and paved the way for Osama bin Laden to rise to power in order to defeat Russia.
“It is clear as day that the U.S. is the power that strengthened Osama bin Laden and created al-Qaeda,” Rahmani writes in the prominent Urdu-language daily Roznama Inquilab, adding that the U.S. helped al-Qaeda “because it wanted to disgrace its opponent power, Russia.”
“With the help of the U.S and the Western powers, Osama launched jihad in Afghanistan, taking it to the point where a superpower like Russia had no option but to leave,” Rahmani continues, noting that the U.S. and “Britain, France, Israel, and other Western governments not only endorsed al-Qaeda’s type of methodology but also oversaw it.”
Rahmani argues that Edward Snowden’s leaked NSA reports prove that Western nations created the terror group and trained its operatives.
“Snowden further said that Israel trained [IS leader] Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,” he says, adding that “IS’s wounded were treated in Israel.”
As further proof of supposed Israeli and the U.S. involvement in creating IS, Rahmani says that only those countries could provide the modern technology used by the terrorists.
“The Muslims are so backward in such resources that it cannot be expected from them that they would create such things. Israel and the Western powers are conspiracy experts.”
Furthermore, he claims, Israel stands to benefit most from IS’s conquest of Syria and Iraq, since the collapse of those countries means that they “will be divided into small pieces so that there could be no Arab neighbor to even raise its eyes toward Israel.”
