TEL AVIV – An androgynous Israeli model is set to become the new face of fashion label Diesel, Ynet reported

Stav Strashko, a male who models both men and women’s clothing, was announced as the face of Diesel’s global ad campaign for this summer.

“Most people in fashion assume I’m a girl,” Strashko told Elle magazine  , “and then they hear my voice!”

Strashko added, “I really don’t care. Many of my friends address me as ‘she.’ Sometimes, I address myself as a ‘she’ too. I swear, I really don’t care—you can call me whatever you’re comfortable with.”

The 24-year-old model, who is often spotted on the red carpet wearing dresses, previously walked the runway for Diesel in 2014.

“I’m happy I’m making it big time now and it’s always a great pleasure to work with Diesel,” said Strashko, “which has broken stigmas about gender and beauty in its campaign in recent years, and I’m proud that I have the opportunity to be part of this movement that is bringing change to the world and is opening people’s eyes to a truth one cannot ignore – there is no single type of beauty or conventional gender and we need to abandon this fixation.”
