London’s U.S. embassy issued a warning to American citizens to keep a “low profile” and avoid “large gatherings” in the capital as leftist, anti-Trump protesters prepare to shut down the city during the President’s visit.

Safety alerts are normally issued to foreign citizens by their embassies in times of political instability, terrorism, and natural disasters; but the U.S. embassy in London has had to issue a “demonstration alert” on Tuesday ahead of planned protests for July 12 to 14.

The embassy advises American citizens to “keep a low profile”, “be aware of your surroundings”, and “exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings that may become violent”.

Several protests are due to take place in the capital during President Trump’s visit; however, Trump will likely miss them as he will be attending events at Blenheim Palace, Prime Minister Theresa May’s country home at Chequers, and Windsor Castle.

Other factors fostering the hostile environment include the mainstream media encouraging protest attendance and London’s left-wing Mayor Sadiq Khan permitting an “obscene” Trump inflatable to fly next to the House of Commons.

President Trump will be meeting with Mrs May while the Prime Minister faces political instability over her proposals for a ‘Soft Brexit’, with the President saying the UK was in “turmoil” Tuesday.
