President Donald Trump is keeping his word so far on enforcement of federal immigration law, and it is apparently having an effect on demand by illegal aliens for some government services.
Some people in the country illegally in California, for example, are so nervous about deportation that applications for free college tuition — also known as Board of Governor’s (BOG) waivers — are down so much that the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges (CCC) system has gone public to reassure illegal aliens that their data will not be shared with Federal immigration authorities.
In a press release posted on the CCC’s official website Friday, Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley announced that applications are down more than 40%.
“It’s apparent that the national conversation surrounding immigration and deportation has created an environment that is confusing and threatening to many of our students,” Oakley said in its press release. “Under the (California) Dream Act, no student’s personal information is shared at the federal level.”
In an unusual move for a publicly-supported entity like the Community Colleges, the “mission and vision” page has the following information listed just below the CCC’s vision statement (original emphasis):

The first link leads to a page with links to all of the programs California Democrats and Obama have pushed through on behalf of illegal alien students — including a video made by the Chancellor himself, and a link to “Post Election Frequently Asked Questions” put together by UC Berkeley’s “Undocumented Student Program.”
The second link connects to a a resolution drafted by the CCC’s Board of Governors affirming their support of those who have entered the United States illegally.
Not to be outdone, according to the San Francisco Examiner, the California State Assembly also spent time passing a resolution encouraging more illegal aliens to apply for Dream Act funds.
