More than 250 people were arrested and three people hospitalized over the first two days of an electronic dance music rave in California taking place over Labor Day weekend.
Police arrested 111 people on Friday and 141 people on Saturday at the three-day Nocturnal Wonderland rave in San Bernandino County, according to the San Bernandino County Sheriff’s Department.
Of the 111 arrested Friday, six people were arrested for being under 18 and one was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a San Bernandino County Sheriff’s deputy and his motorcycle, the Los Angeles Times reports. The deputy was reportedly uninjured in the crash.
The 141 arrested Saturday were booked for a variety of offenses, including drug possession, drug sales, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, assault and battery, and indecent exposure, police say.
Three people were hospitalized as of Sunday morning. One was hospitalized for traumatic injuries to the face as a result of an assault, while the other two were hospitalized for unknown reasons — although one was later released, officials say.
A sheriff’s deputy was also sent to the hospital from injuries sustained during an arrest Friday evening, but was later released, the Times reports.
Similar EDM music festivals have brought a slew of deaths and arrests in recent years.
Three people died after attending the HARD Summer rave in Fontana earlier this summer, according to the Times. Close to 250 were arrested at Nocturnal Wonderland’s sister event, the Beyond Wonderland festival, back in March, according to LAist.
