UCLA gunman Mainak Sarkar allegedly shot and killed professor William Klug on Wednesday over a computer code.
LAPD says Sarkar, who killed himself after allegedly murdering Klug, had accused Klug of “stealing his computer code and giving it to someone else.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, Sarkar was a former doctoral student. Breitbart News Previously reported that Sarkar allegedly shot and killed Klug in a gun free zone just before 10 am on Wednesday, then turned the gun on himself–taking his own life.
Any motives beyond the allegations related to the computer code are unknown at this time, but KABC-TV reports that police are “[focused] on Sarkar’s grades and a “longer-standing” poor relationship between the two men.” Sarkar was one of Klug’s past students.
