Olympic gold medalist and musician Shaun White is being sued by the female drummer in his band, “Bad Things,” who is alleging that White sexually harassed her and did not pay her for her performance in the group.
According to the local ABC News affiliate, the lawsuit was filed in San Diego Superior Court by Lena Zawaideh. The duo reportedly got to know each other during the 2007 wildfire from which they were both evacuated. The two had reportedly started seeing each other soon after but the relationship went sour.
In the suit, Zawaideh accuses White of “outrageous conduct’ consisting of “sexual harassment, innuendos, threats, wrongful statements, [and] contract breaches.”
TMZ notes that Zawaideh said White owes her over $42,000 in back payments.
In addition, TMZ reported in 2012 that White was arrested in a Nashville hotel after he trashed it while he was intoxicated. The site reported at the time: “When he was confronted by hotel staff, Shaun allegedly pulled several fire alarms and then ran fast … so fast he fell and split his head open.”
“Bad Things” premiered their first album in 2014. Zawaideh and White can be seen performing the ballad, “Caught Inside,” in the video below (lyrics follow, via MetroLyrics):
