Former President Bill Clinton will campaign for Hillary Clinton in California this week, with two stops in San Diego and Los Angeles on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Clinton campaign said the former president would speak about “why Hillary Clinton is the best candidate to raise wages and break down all the barriers holding families back,” according to local ABC affiliate 10News.
No further details on the time and location for the events were announced. A spokesperson for the Clinton campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.
Bill Clinton was in Kentucky on Tuesday, where he reportedly campaigned for his wife at Morehead State University in the morning before heading to scheduled stops in Lexington and Louisville. Kentucky’s Democratic primary is on May 17, and polls show Clinton leading Bernie Sanders in the state.
Bill Clinton’s visit to Southern California comes as the campaign gears up for what will be a critical and likely decisive state primary on June 7. A SurveyUSA/KABC poll released Monday found Clinton leading Sanders by a 57-38 margin among registered California voters.
Clinton will hold a rally at East Los Angeles College on Thursday before heading to two pricey fundraisers later that day, one of which will be hosted by Councilman José Huizar (D-Los Angeles). Later Thursday, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin will be the guest of honor at a fundraiser hosted by San Marino-based pulmonologist and longtime Clinton contributor Dr. Asif Mahmood.
On Friday, Clinton will attend a fundraiser in San Francisco with actress Elizabeth Banks and California Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbra Boxer. General admission tickets for that event began at just $45 and went up to $2,700, however the event is completely sold out.
Meanwhile, Bill Clinton will be in Los Angeles Friday for a fundraiser at the Los Angeles home of Laura and Sandy Michelman. Tickets for that event start at $1,000, while hosts who raise $10,000 can attend a special reception with the former president.
