Traditional yoga has taken an emotional twist with “rage yoga,”
“I’ve created Rage Yoga for all of us who want the benefits of yoga but never quite fit in conventional classes,” creator Lindsay-Marie Istace writes on the Rage Yoga website. “Want to better your strength, flexibility and become zen as f#ck? Enjoy the occasional f-bomb or innuendo? You’ve come to the right place.”
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Istace created Rage Yoga after enduring a very painful breakup following the end of long-term relationship.
Although Istace’s Rage Yoga is only offered in Calgary, she hopes to soon make it available to anyone with an internet connection. Anyone who is able to participate in the class “can expect foul language, laughter and some serious war cries!”
