On March 11, a Canyon Country resident shot and killed an alleged intruder to save himself and his eight-month-old baby boy.
The incident occurred around 9:10 pm.
According to ABC 7, witnesses said “the apartment resident told the suspect several times to leave because he did not live there, but the suspect ignored him.” They said “the intruder…allegedly broke out the window and started to climb inside the apartment when the apartment resident opened fire.”
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene to find the alleged intruder suffering from multiple gunshots, which proved fatal. Witnesses reported hearing “between five and seven gunshots.”
KHTS AM 1220 reports that the resident had dialed 911 and “was on the line with a dispatcher when the man outside [allegedly] attempted to break in through a window.” That is when the resident opened fire. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina said, “The individual was home with his son, when the other individual began banging on his door, trying to get into his house.”
The resident’s son is eight months old.
