Stephen Curry set the NBA record for three pointers in consecutive games in style on Thursday night.
He dropped a bomb through the rim from behind the arc at the 5:45 mark of the first quarter to set the mark. The triple gave him three-point baskets in 128 consecutive games. The field goal broke Kyle Korver’s record set two years ago.
Curry didn’t stop there.
The reigning NBA MVP hit nine more three pointers, on a 10-for-15 night shooting from behind the arc. His 51 points fueled the Golden State Warriors to a 130-116 victory over the Orlando Magic. This stands as the third game this season in which Curry has scored 50 or more points.
The road win puts Golden State at 52-5, the league’s best ever record after 57 games. With 25 games remaining, the Warriors need to go 21-4 to surpass the all-time regular-season record set by the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls.
