On August 13, LAPD Officers drew their weapons and held a pregnant woman at gunpoint because the truck she was driving matched the description of a truck being driven by a murder suspect.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the woman was driving in Sun Valley “around 3 pm” when police spotted her vehicle and it matched the description of suspect’s truck. They had the pregnant woman step out of the truck, get on her knees and put her hands behind her head.
Both the pregnant woman and a passenger were “briefly handcuffed,” then released once the LAPD officers realized it was a case of mistaken identity. LAPD made clear they took “precautions” because the windows of truck were tinted, which hindered them from clearly seeing the truck’s occupants.
Raw Story reports “two small children were allegedly inside [the vehicle] at the time of the mistaken stop.”
