On Sunday morning, a man trespassing at a gated apartment complex in Sacramento impaled his leg on the point of a wrought iron fence as he attempted to hop over it, according to News10 Sacramento.
A witness said the trespasser was attempting to run away when the body piercing occurred, according to Fox40.
The suspect, his leg, and the section of the fence in which his leg was still impaled were all taken to the hospital after rescuers could only remove the fence and not the suspect’s leg from the fence. Apparently the suspect could have found an easier way; the doorknob to the gate was unlocked.
The Public Safety News Network reported on Facebook that the suspect reportedly was seizing recyclables, as his cart of recyclables was found inside the gate.
