Hundreds of #BlackLivesMatter demonstrators marched through the streets of Oakland on Friday, and a dozen people locked arms and chained themselves together in the middle of a busy intersection, to voice their unrest over the shooting death of Demouria Hogg, 30, last week.

“Whose streets? Our streets!” the demonstrators shouted as they marched shortly after 8 p.m., according to the San Francisco Chronicle. One demonstrator posted images on social media about shutting down the courthouse and breaking the curfew imposed by Mayor Libby Schaaf several weeks ago.

Among a laundry list of demands the demonstrators presented was the immediate release of the names of the officers who shot Hogg, plus footage or video surveillance from the event and the coroner’s report, the Chronicle notes. Video footage is usually not released to the public during the course of an investigation as it could pollute the original account of the incidents from witnesses and officers involved.

Hogg was shot by Oakland Police officers on June 6. He was found passed out in his BMW early that morning with a loaded black handgun and a magazine with 30 rounds in it. After several attempts, over the course of an hour, to get Hoggs to step out of the vehicle, officers reportedly approached his car and used a crowbar to break his window in order to get his attention. Hoggs “abruptly” reached for his gun resulting in a police officer shooting him twice, according to the Chronicle. A second officer reportedly also fired his taser. Hoggs was pronounced dead at Highland Hospital.
