Renee Jackson, 25, has been charged with murder after she allegedly hit a motorcyclist with her car late Thursday afternoon as a result of a road rage incident. The motorcyclist, Zach Buob, 39, was an active duty Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy’s special operations as a boat operator, according to Inquisitr.com.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigators said Jackson was driving her Nissan Altima on northbound Interstate 5 when she confronted Buob, driving a Ducati motorcycle.

CHP asserted that Jackson and Buob moved from the northbound I-5 to the eastbound SR-54, where Jackson hit Buob’s motorcycle from behind and then ran over him. Although other drivers stopped to try to rescue Buob and a medical team showed up to use CPR, he died later at a hospital.

One witness, Charmaine Ramilo, said, “I guess he shook his head and he sped up right next to her and saying, ‘What’s up,’ and all of a sudden she tried to sideswipe him.” She said Buob kicked Jackson’s Nissan Altima, prompting Jackson’s rage. She added, “The lady got mad and followed him, tailgated him, tried to get him off the road.”

Department of Motor Vehicle records show Jackson regained her license in January after it had been suspended for two years for “lack of knowledge or skill.”

Jackson’s mother told 10News that Buob was trying to squeeze his motorcycle between two cars and kicked Jackson’s car, adding that her daughter followed Jackson to obtain his license plate. She also claimed Buob cut in front of her daughter, thus giving her daughter no room to stop.
