Border Patrol agents spotted a man who appeared to be carrying a shotgun north of the U.S.-Mexico border on Tuesday morning.
Additional agents responded to the sighting in search of the man. Agents coordinated with Mexican law enforcement in an attempt to prevent the man from fleeing south.
Agents worked with Mexican authorities to locate and arrest the man, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection release. Agents found the fully loaded shotgun under nearby bushes.
It was discovered that the man is a 44-year-old Mexican national. He had been turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. No additional information was available pending an investigation.
