A female San Diego Police Officer was shot in the neck Sunday morning at approximately 8:25am in the Kearny Mesa area and has been taken to a local hospital.
Police officials say the officer is expected to survive.
The suspect in the shooting has also been shot. Local ABC News affiliate 10 News reported that the suspect is believed dead, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Emergency responders including fire, paramedics and police were on scene. A helicopter and SWAT were on scene as well according to NBC San Diego.
