A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Northern California Wednesday afternoon, 25 miles southwest of Ferndale.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 1:08 p.m. Pacific Time just off the North Coast. Shaking could be felt in nearby Eureka, and as far inland as Chico and Red Bluff.
The depth of the quake was recorded at 10.6 miles. The earthquake was reportedly followed by several aftershocks.
According to the Los Angeles Times, there were no immediate reports of injury.
