Friday a small tornado brandishing winds of 85 mph, tearing roofs off of houses and uprooting trees in its path, struck a South Los Angeles neighborhood.
The National Weather Service confirmed that the Tornado was ranked as an EF0, which is the lowest ranking on the Enhanced Fujita scale. According to ABC7 News, at least 1000 homes were without power at 6pm last night, six hours after the tornado touched down.
South L.A. resident Jaime Mena saw what was happening from his bedroom window and started filming it. “It was crazy man,” he said. “Crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it… I’m shaken up.” Other residents said it was “it was a scary situation” and “devastating.”
