Mirroring Tuesday night’s protest activities in Los Angeles, traffic once again screeched to a halt on the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway this morning around 9 a.m. near downtown by protesters who obstructed traffic.
The demonstrators gathered in response to the controversial grand jury decision in which police officer Darren Wilson was not indicted for the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
CBS Los Angeles reported that a group of about 15-20 people stopped vehicles near Alvarado Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. By 9:40 a.m. two of the lanes were re0pened.
Several demonstrations have taken place throughout the Southland, including dozens of protesters who shut down the 101 Freeway at Grand Avenue on Tuesday at around 9 p.m..
