New developments continue in the saga surrounding former DeMaio congressional campaign staffer Todd Bosnich, who was arrested, then released Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his mother the Friday before.
In an event seemingly unrelated to scandals surrounding the congressional campaign, Bosnich was arrested “on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery and disabling a telephone line,” Fox 5 San Diego reported Lt. Kevin Mayer of San Diego Police as saying.
Reporters spotted Bosnich leaving a bail bonds business Tuesday evening after he was apparently released from police custody.
Bosnich publicly accused DeMaio of sexual harassment and a campaign staff of bribery after being fired from the campaign in May. DeMaio flatly denied the allegations and asserted Bosnich was responsible for an incident of plagiarism in the days leading up to California’s June primary election.
DeMaio also implicated Bosnich in a mysterious campaign office break-in that occurred just days before the primary and after the campaign fired him.
