Triple digit temperatures are forecast for southern California’s first October weekend, but San Gabriel Valley region residents need not melt, as local water park Raging Waters has extended their summer season for one more weekend.
Capitalizing on sustained high temperatures in southern California, Raging Waters will remain open in October for the first time ever. Raging Waters is the only park expected to be open this weekend, with over one million gallons of water greeting park guests.
At the same time, the region remains in drought with little relief. The San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District website reports zero inches of rain since July 1 and 61% of average 47% capacity in California reservoirs.
Park hours are reportedly to run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in San Dimas.
