'Girls Gone Wild' Mogul Joe Francis Issued a $500,000 Arrest Warrant

Joe Francis, the founder of “Girls Gone Wild,” incurred a $500,000 arrest warrant for missing his scheduled court appearance on Friday.

The GGW videos gained popularity in the 1990s by showing college age women in bikinis willingly exposing their breasts and rear ends, while appearing to have a good time.

Francis was ordered to appear for disobeying a court order to stay away from “Girls Gone Wild” headquarters as part of last year’s bankruptcy filing, according to City Attorney Spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

NBC reported that at the time of the incident, the GGW creator got into an argument that turned physical with a trustee and a security guard on the business premises.

As a result of the altercation, Francis spent one night in jail and was charged with making criminal threats, trespassing, and disobeying a court order.

In May, the GGW mogul was convicted of three counts of false imprisonment with three women in his Bel-Air home and one count of assault with the aim of inflicting great bodily harm.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Francis didn’t consider the verdict in that case a good one, and he had particularly harsh things to say about the jury: “I want that jury to know that each and every one of you are mentally f–ing retarded and you should be euthanized because, as Darwin said, you have naturally selected yourself.”
