Officials at the Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme are working to contain the spread of swine flue and pneumonia among unaccompanied alien children brought there in recent days, according to a report in the Washington Free Beacon. “The pneumonia cases and meningitis scare last weekend followed two cases of H1N1 swine flu among other child immigrants–one at the California base and another in Texas,” writes Bill Gertz.
Breitbart News visited the base last week as pro-amnesty protestors descended on the facility to offer a contrast to the demonstrations that blocked alien transfers in Murrieta, California. Authorities told the Free Beacon that the illnesses among the children were no risk to the general public, and that earlier fears of meningitis had been disproven.
Bases throughout the country have been asked to make new facilities available for the alien children.
