Illegal immigrant children and families overflowing into Texas from Central America and being held in overcrowded detention centers will soon see 300 detainees flown out to the southern California cities of San Diego and El Centro according to an Associated Press report. Overwhelmed Border Patrol agents have been picking up migrants crossing the U.S. southern border.
One of the most flooded areas remains the Rio Grande Valley section of the border, leaving Texas low on resources to patrol the area while managing and caring for those taken into custody. Breitbart News reported June 16 the statement of director of Policy Studies for the Center for Immigration Studies Jessica Vaughan, “the influx of illegal immigrants crossing the Rio Grande has reached 1,000 a day and forced the government to release criminal detainees who were awaiting deportation.”
The AP report went on to state that additional flights were expected to repeat at least every three days for an unknown duration of time. Further, the number of Border Patrol arrests of illegal immigrants, mostly from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, has soared to 174,000 since October 1.
In Escondido, a town in northeast San Diego county, residents Larry and Kitty Demry shared on June 19 with California Political Review, “the defunct, Palomar Hospital-run, long-term health care facility within .5 miles of my home is being considered by the City of Escondido Planning Department for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for Government Services to operate an ‘unaccompanied youth care facility serving minors between 6 and 17 years of age.’ The public hearing notice goes on to say that these youth will be kept inside the facility with ‘six-foot-high security fencing.'”
Breitbart’s Brandon Darby, having released leaked images of the warehoused Central American illegal immigrant children just a couple of weeks ago, has been at the forefront of public revelations over the massive migration of unaccompanied children. He spoke with Breitbart News Saturday just a week ago, commenting on the increase that has been occurring since the beginning of Obama’s 2009 ascension to the office of president. In a striking statement, Darby reportedly referred to this case as “the worst humanitarian crisis since Hurricane Katrina.”
