'New' Note Released from Kurt Cobain's Death Scene Taunts Courtney Love

The public is still learning new information about the 1994 death of grunge rock icon Kurt Cobain.

This week, the Seattle Police Department shared unpublished photographs and other details from the scene of the rocker’s suicide.

Among the notable findings–a handwritten note discovered in the Nirvana singer’s wallet which painted an unflattering portrait of Cobain’s wife, Courtney Love. Police haven’t determined yet if Cobain did indeed write the note in question. But the message on the note reflects the combustible nature of the pair’s courtship, one reflected in their public personas and their music.

In his original suicide note, Cobain called Love “a goddess … who sweats ambition and empathy.” But this new note has darker (and possibly sarcastic) undertones about the couple’s marriage — “Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife…even when she’s a b- with zits and siphoning all (your) money for doping and whoring…”

It’s unclear when the note was written. Cobain and Love had a famously tumultuous marriage with drug abuse and fighting, but they also wrote songs and spoke of deep devotion to each other.
