On Tuesday, the Los Angeles City Council asked newspapers like the Los Angeles Times to stop running ads from ventures associated with Donald Sterling.
The City Council passed a resolution from Councilman Bernard Parks that also backed the NBA’s lifetime ban of Sterling and demanded “a personal apology to Magic Johnson and all Angelenos.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, “the resolution also called on the Los Angeles branch of the NAACP to revoke its nomination of Sterling for the NAACP Humanitarian Award.”
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life on Tuesday and said he fully expected 3/4 of the league’s owners to remove him from the league.
