On Monday, a homeless woman praying on the sidewalk in the city of Lancaster was assaulted by a teenage boy in an egging attack.
The Los Angeles Times reported that a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy caught the suspect in the act near Sierra Highway and Jackson Avenue and arrested him immediately. Two other teens who were waiting for the alleged assailant in a nearby car were also arrested, all of them minors.
Based on items found in the teen’s car, the Sheriff’s Department suspects that “other prior incidents had occurred.” Backpacks, a glove, a mask, “and what appears to be an Airsoft-type pellet gun” were found in the car and were posted online by sheriff officials.
The victim was struck once in the chest, and although she complained of having pain, she refused medical treatment.
The Times said that the three teens were booked on suspicion of felony assault and conspiracy and were being held without bail at the Sylmar Detention Facility.
