A Washington state Chick-fil-A stood in the gap on Saturday by delivering 1,000 meals to hospital workers battling a coronavirus outbreak in the state.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center posted several photos of restaurant workers delivering large boxes filled with meals to the Vancouver facility.

“Your kindness in a tough time is appreciated more than you can know,” the Center posted on Facebook.

Chick-fil-A Cascade Park responded, “We were truly honored to partner with PeaceHealth Southwest to serve their fantastic team.”

Washington has been the epicenter of coronavirus-related deaths.

As of Monday, there have been 905 confirmed cases, and 48 deaths, KIRO reported.

Twenty-nine deaths have occurred at a single location: Life Care Center nursing facility in King County.

Gov. Jay Inslee ordered a temporary shutdown of bars, restaurants, and entertainment facilities in an attempt to curb the outbreak in the state.

The order lasts through March 31, but could be extended.

“These are very difficult decisions, but hours count here and very strong measures are necessary to slow the spread of the virus. I know there will be significant economic impacts to all our communities and we are looking at steps to help address those challenges,” Inslee said.
