Thousands of students from across the globe gathered in St. Louis, Missouri, to affirm their faith — and put it into practice.

United Pentecostal Church International hosted the “North American Youth Congress” from July 31 to August 2 at America’s Center in St. Louis. This year’s theme was “Kingdom Come,” and it offered its young attendees the privilege of serving those in need.

The gathered students filled two semitrucks with 1,500 buckets of relief supplies for communities struggling through natural disasters and donated more than $1 million to UPCI’s fundraising arm, “Sheaves For Christ.”

“Jesus told us to pray that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth,” UPCI Youth Ministries President Josh Carson explained in reference to the Lord’s Prayer. “That means we are called to serve the needs of others, particularly when they are suffering through a crisis.”
