Three people are in hospital Thursday after a triple shooting in south London Wednesday night, and the Metropolitan Police gang-crime unit has launched an investigation.
Police said in a statement two individuals were found at the scene having sustained injuries from pellets, suggesting the attack may have been with a shotgun type weapon. Neither are in a serious condition and are in hospital for treatment. A third individual fled the scene of the attack and was taken to hospital by friends, reports The Times.
The third victim is in life-threatening condition, again having suffered “gunshot pellet injuries”.
Metropolitan Police officers closed roads around the crime scene and have launched an investigation, but no arrests have yet been made. The shooting is believed to be gang-related.
The latest violence follows a brutal stabbing attack against a mother and her one-year-old toddler, the brutality of which was such that police officers attending the scene of the crime were witnessed breaking down in tears. The stabbed child, who had been described by emergency services spokesmen as in critical condition after the stabbing is now stable in hospital, according to latest reports.
Over the weekend, a man was shot in the face during a double shooting in London while a woman was slashed across the face in a knife attack during a rising trend of extreme violence across the city.
Breitbart London reported in January on shocking official crime statistics which saw double-digit rises in a host of offences including youth homicide, serious youth violence, and robbery.
