One of UKIP’s representatives in the London Assembly has slammed the city’s Muslim mayor for “alienating” Donald Trump whilst backing “his globalist friend” Hillary Clinton and “grandstanding” about the U.S. election.

“A couple of weeks ago [Sadiq Khan] was criticising France for banning burkinis; this week it is the American Presidential Elections”, London Assembly member David Kurten (pictured right) exclusively told Breitbart London.

“Sadiq Khan has once again shown that he is not really concerned primarily with doing his job as Mayor of London but grandstanding around the world making pronouncements about things which really don’t concern him,” he continued.

Mr. Kurten said the Mayor’s “recent jaunt to America was another chance to big up his globalist friend” Mrs. Clinton after the London Mayor said last week, “I hope the best candidate wins – I’m sure she will” during a backslapping meeting with the left-wing Mayor of New York Bill de Blasio.

“It has been clear for many months that he supports Clinton for the presidency – the woman who said of Colonel Ghaddafi – ‘We came, we saw, he died, ha ha ha ha ha.’ before leaving Libya as an ISIS-infested failed state,” Mr. Kurten blasted.

During his U.S. trip, Mr. Khan has attacked Donald Trump multiple times, accusing him of “building…walls”, “scapegoating”, and “playing into the hands” of Islamic State.

“However, just as he took an anti-Brexit stance and was wrong about the results of the British referendum, his anti-Trump position is likely to leave him with egg on his face,” Mr. Kurten continued.

“It is increasingly likely that Mr. Trump will win the elections and we will wake up on November 9th to President Trump.

“Khan will then have the humiliating task of mending relations with the most powerful man in the world who he has previously called a ‘buffoon’ and someone who needs to be ‘educated’.

“His utterings have not just damaged his relationship with Mr. Trump, but also the 50 per cent of Americans who support him, who may decide they don’t want to do business in or visit a city with a Mayor who is hostile to the President.”

Along with UKIP’s candidate for Mayor of London Peter Whittle (pictured left), Mr. Kurten became one of the party’s first representatives in the London assembly for 12 years after the 2016 mayoral elections.

The two men have already made an impact, challenging the Mayor for cracking down on free speech and making dubious claims about a “hate crime” epidemic which he blamed of the Brexit vote.

In his statement to Breitbart London, Mr. Kurten suggested that Mr. Khan’s courting of Hillary is “perhaps in preparation for a bid at the leadership of his left-wing Labour party”, and insisted:

“It is time that he stuck to what he should be doing which is running London’s transport and police, rather than alienating the man who is likely to be the leader of the free world.”

We need strong border controls and security checks to make Britain and indeed the whole of Europe more safe.

Speaking on Fox News this week, former UKIP leader Nigel Farage also attacked the London Mayor, slamming Mr. Khan for telling New Yorkers that terror attacks are “part and parcel” of urban life, just hours after an Islamic terrorist bombed the city.

He demanded an “apology” from the London Mayor for supporting the reckless policies of mass immigration and said his comments in New York effectively “put up the white flag of surrender” and moved to “normalise terror”.

During his election campaign, the Mayor was accused of sympathising with Islamic extremists after it emerged he shared a platform with numerous anti-Semites, defended 9/11 terrorists as a barrister, and had a brother-in-law who was a member of banned jihadi group Al-Muhajiroun.

And since taking office, Mr. Khan has appointed an extremism-linked “Integration Deputy Mayor”, as Breitbart London revealed earlier this month.
