VIENNA, Sept 12 (Reuters) – A re-run of Austria’s presidential election due to take place on Oct. 2 has been postponed, Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka said on Monday.
Addressing a news conference, he said the vote might be rescheduled for either Nov 27 or Dec 4. The postponement came after some postal voters complained of faulty seals on ballot papers.
The Constitutional Court ordered the re-run after a challenge from the losing candidate. Judges cited irregularities in the way some postal ballots were processed in the original election in May.
