LONDON (AP) — British police have been given more time to question four people in an investigation that is possibly linked to a key suspect in the deadly attacks in Paris and Brussels.
Counterterrorism police on Saturday were given seven further days to question three men — two 26-year-olds and one aged 40 — and a 29-year-old woman. A 59-year-old man has been released on bail “with strict conditions.”
The five people were arrested Thursday and Friday after an investigation involving Britain, France and Belgium.
The move comes after authorities investigating the deadly March 22 attacks in Belgium detained a suspect who had ties to Birmingham. The suspect, Mohamed Abrini, was also wanted in the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that left 130 people dead. He is now under arrest in Belgium.
