Muslim fundamentalists waste no time radicalising their latest Islamist recruits, approaching new arrivals as soon as they arrive in Europe, according to German security services.
A spokesman for the Bavarian security service said Islamists were taking advantage of immigrants who were disorientated or without friends in their new country, reports TheLocal.de. He said of the situation: “Salafists are trying to talk with unaccompanied youths who have come to Germany without their families and who are in particular need of support and connections.
“The Salafists are trying to use the desperate situation refugees find themselves in for their own goals”.
Radical Salafist Muslims are going into camps, refugee reception centres, and even Munich Main Train Station, the railway terminus where thousands arrive from Hungary via Austria into Germany for the first time, with a mission to recruit.
Intelligence services in Germany’s most populous state, North Rhine-Westphalia, reported similar contacts on Tuesday. In that case they noted radical Muslims approached migrants using fake charities. A spokesman said:
“We are going to inform the employees of the reception centres and make them aware of this situation and the methods used for these attempts.”
According to Germany’s federal quota system, Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia are the two states receiving most asylum seekers, with 21 per cent and 15 per cent respectively. This year, 800,000 asylum applications are expected in Germany as a whole, four times more than last year.
The extremist Salafist sect is a minority group in global Islam but wields disproportionate influence and has been the source of major violence in European countries like Germany.
The group rejects all man-made laws and the authority of national governments, recognising only the will of Allah. Salafi Islam is believed to be the fastest growing group of radical Muslims.
Breitbart London reported last year on the deployment of 1,300 police in Frankfurt over three nights in October after Salafist Muslims took to the streets armed with kebab skewers, machetes, and iron bars to brawl with Yazidi Kurds.
The spread of Salafist and Wahabist Islam in Germany has been a major cause for concern and was one of the key grievances articulated by the Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA) movement.
Munich daily the Süddeutsche Zeitung reports a nationally notorious extremist preacher of the Salafist sect has taken to Facebook to call on his loyal Islamists to go out to these places and recruit economic migrants and refugees to Salafism.
Germany is struggling daily to keep tabs on the large numbers of Islamist extremists at large in the country – either known individuals or as of yet to-be-activated Islamists hiding in society. Breitbart London reported last month on the chilling call to arms made in German, and broadcast on the internet by the Islamic State. Calling on true beleivers to rise up and attack Germany and Austria, convicted terrorist Mohamed Mahmoud said from Syria, where he escaped after release from prison:
“My brothers and sisters, either you come here and join the Mujahideen, or you lead the jihad in Germany and Austria. You do not need much, just take a large knife and kill every unbeliever. They are like dogs!”.
“Oh Merkel, you dirty bitch. We will take revenge for the insult of the prophet, we will take revenge for the Afghan Muslim blood that you have shed. We will take revenge for the shipment of arms to the rebels here in the Islamic state. Our revenge will be with you!”.
Germany’s former Federal Minister of the Interior, Hans-Peter Friedrich, has told Passauer Neue Presse Merkel’s decision to allow uncontrolled and unregistered migration from Hungary is “an unprecedented political blunder” that will have “devastating long-term consequences.” Acknowledging the touching human gestures shown by Germans welcoming refugees, he nevertheless said it is “the task of politicians to think beyond the present and make decisions for the future.”
Pointing out that Germany has “lost contol” Friedrich said it is “totally irresponsible to allow thousands to enter the country “uncontrolled and unregistered” preventing any sort of reliable assessment as to “how many of them are IS fighters or Islamist sleepers.”
He added: “No other country in the world would be so naive as to be exposed to such a risk” and that he hopes it “does not yet lead to a rude awakening.”
