A British mother-of-two and Islamic State (ISIS) recruiter, who has expressed her desire to behead Christians with a “blunt knife,” was living off of handouts from church just weeks before she traveled to Syria.
Sally Jones, 45, now calling herself Umm Hussain Al-Britani, is a former punk from Chatham in Kent who was thought to be involved in plotting to bomb Her Majesty the Queen last week.
She lived on benefits in UK and was receiving grocery parcels from the church-run Borough Green food bank near Sevenoaks in June 2013, after converting to Islam and shortly before leaving for Syria in April that year, The Sunday Times reports.
The Jihadi bride once played guitar in an all-girl punk bad. Her Twitter profile now features phrases like “Behead those who insult Islam” and she has told undercover journalists of her wish to behead Christians.
She is believed to recruit for the terror group online as a fictional 17-year-old girl called Aisha, and is also thought to lead the al-Khanssaa Brigade, an all-female religious police which punishes women for “un-Islamic behaviors.”
Jones met and married Junaid Hussain, 21, after an online romance and took her 10-year-old son with her when she traveled to join him in the terrorist state.
Hussain is a British hacker and ISIS recruiter who is thought to be near the top of the CIA’s hit list. The couple are sometimes known as “Mr. and Mrs. Terror.”
The Times reported last year:
Jones was adamant that Hussain and his British friend Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, 24, known as the “hip-hop jihadist”, played no role in the beheadings of the American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
She also tried to retract her online comment about beheading Christians, saying she had been responding to abuse from an internet troll.
The Borough Green food bank has reported a rise in demand for their services in recent years. Most users are not believed to be jihadists.
