WATCH: Historian Tells Sky News, ‘Napoleon Was a Modern, Liberal, Forerunner of the European Union’

As we inch closer to a European referendum, it appears that those on the liberal left, still wed to the idea of a big, corporate-dominated European Union, will take any opportunity to go to bat for their cause. But I never thought I’d see a tyrant like Napoleon being used as the pin up boy for the EU. 

Watch the clip from Sky News this morning below, as one historian lauds Napoleon as a modern, liberal, forerunner of the European Union. He also doesn’t have much nice to say about the Duke of Wellington, who defeated Napoleon, with a coalition of European armies (fancy that!) 200 years ago today.
