A top secret file about “unnatural” sexual behaviour by members of the Westminster elite has been uncovered at the British Government’s National Archive in Kew, West London. Academic Dr Chris Murphy discovered the file last year but has only just revealed its existence to Sky News.
The document is entitled “PREM19/588 – SECURITY. Allegations against former public [word redacted] of unnatural sexual proclivities; security aspects 1980 Oct 27 – 1981 Mar 20.” The PREM reference code means it went through the Prime Minister’s Office, making it likely Margaret Thatcher read it.
The Cabinet Office has confirmed the existence of the file, adding that it has not been made public because it contains sensitive information. A spokeswoman said: “In this case, the file was kept closed and retained as it contained information from the security services and advice from the Law Officers. These classifications are reviewed periodically.”
PREM19/588 has not yet been released and as a result the information contained within it is not publicly known. When the spokeswoman was asked if it would be released to the investigation into historic child abuse she said: “We are clear that any files that are pertinent to the historical child sex abuse inquiry will be made available to the panel.”
Liz Dux, abuse lawyer at Slater and Gordon, which represents more than 800 abuse victims, said: “This file must not only be released to the child sex abuse inquiry but also to the police given that there are references to alleged offences having taken place. These must be properly investigated.
“The fact that nothing was done about it at the time is astonishing. Yet again – as in so many historical abuse cases – we appear to be seeing a missed opportunity where allegations were ignored or brushed under the carpet. It is an outrage that this file was seen at Prime Ministerial-level and we are only finding about it now.”
Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk, who has campaigned to expose paedophiles in Westminster, said the Prime Minister had promised to “leave no stone unturned” in the quest for the trust and this “stone needed upturning”.
At today’s Prime Minster’s Question Time, David Cameron pledged to put firm timetables on future inquiries to stop them dragging out. He was responding to a question asking him to confirm the child abuse inquiry will not take a long as the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq war.
As reported earlier on Breitbart London Sir John Chilcot has written to the Prime Minister to say his report will not be published until after the General Election. This is despite it having seen its last witness in 2011.
