Hollywood actress Ali Larter is praising the “real sense of community” she has gained since ditching Los Angeles and moving her family to Sun Valley, Idaho.

Amid the COVID panic in 2020, Larter and her husband, comedian Hayes MacArthur, decided that California was no longer the place to raise their two young children, and soon enough they left L.A. behind for a new home in Idaho, Fox News reported.

Larter’s husband told Rue Daily that in 2020, “The industry was at a total standstill and our kids were stuck on screens with remote schooling.”

“So, after a year, we just packed up the car and bounced.” Larter added, “We figured it was an opportunity to go on an adventure as a family. And we just started driving north.”

The Legally Blonde actress said that life in Idaho could not be more different than that in L.A.

“We fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and their quiet grandness,” Larter explained of how a short trip to Sun Valley ended up in a permanent move. “Neither of us had ever lived in a small town before. People look out for each other. There’s a real sense of community here, and we’re so happy to be a part of it.”

“Looking at the mountains relaxes and inspires me,” Larter continued. “Most of the time in my life, I feel like I’m going 1,000 miles an hour and these giant rocks chill me out.”

Larter and her husband are only the latest to flee the spiralling crime, rising taxes, and general decay of Los Angeles. A growing number of celebrities from the A-List down have already dumped L.A. for friendlier environs.

That list includes Kaley Cuoco, Mark Wahlberg, Dean Cain, Sylvester Stallone, Robert Davi, Sheryl Crow, Nikki Sixx, Rob Schneider, Scott Baio, and many more.
