Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy, Disney’s personal franchise destroyer, has threatened that it’s “entirely possible” Phoebe Waller-Bridge could take over the Indiana Jones franchise.
For those of you who have no idea who Phoebe Waller-Bridge is–welcome to the club. She’s a favorite only among the Hollywood Elite after doing a streaming show called Fleabag less than one percent of the country watched. Based on a number of reviews, in the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Phoebe Waller-Not-Cates plays Indy’s goddaughter and spends much of the movie emasculating him. Naturally, she’s a badass girlboss who lectures and saves him. If you’ve watched any of the garbage created by Kathleen “Franchise Killer” Kennedy, you know of what I speak:
Kennedy spoke with [the far-left] Variety about the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny film, where she was asked if Disney and Lucasfilm see potential for Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her character, Helena Shaw, to carry on the franchise.
Kennedy informed the outlet that “it’s entirely possible.” However, she also added, “We’re not having any of those conversations right now. We’re just focused on finishing this with Harrison.”
Kennedy’s comments come after numerous rumors claimed that Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character would replace Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones by the end of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
I loved Karen Allen in Raiders of the Lost Ark. She was everything a woman in an adventure movie should be: tough, vulnerable, feminine, independent, sexy, funny, smart, seductive, and almost every bit Indy’s equal. But I wouldn’t want an in-her-prime Karen Allen to take over the franchise. I don’t want anyone to take it over. But to use identity politics to re-cast the role, to use the role to make woke political statement…? You are talking about a sure-fire $300 million bomb. Already the forever-tarnished Disney/Lucasfilm/Kathleen Kennedy brand has destroyed Star Wars, Willow, and Marvel to such a degree that the box office projections for Dial of Destiny are pathetic. Even Kingdom of the Crystal Suck made money. Why? The previous three Indiana Jones movies were so beloved and created so much audience goodwill, no one could stay away. That goodwill is now running on fumes. If Dial of Destiny flops, Kennedy has to go. She probably won’t. She’s an affirmative action hire. But that’s a good thing. Watching the child abusers, groomers, fetishists, perverts, and degenerates at Disney crash and burn is more entertaining than their product.
This is the Dial of Destiny clip Disney chose to release. If this garbage is a Dial of Destiny highlight, the movie must be dreadful. The totally unnecessary CGI alone…
Get in the backseat, old man, and watch a girlboss drive!
