The coronavirus has reshaped life for everyone everywhere and Oscar-winning actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto said that he only learned about it after spending nearly two weeks in the desert.

The Dallas Buyers Club actor went to Twitter saying that he spent 12 days in silent meditation at a desert facility. “We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility,” he wrote.

Leto said that learning about the coronavirus pandemic was “mind blowing,” adding that he’s “catching up” on the news.

“Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing – to say the least. I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on,” he wrote.

Leto’s realization comes as a slew of celebrities have tested positive for the coronavirus. Last week, actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, said they contracted the virus while in Australia for production of an Elvis Presley biopic. The pair left the hospital on Monday and are in isolation at a local home. On Monday, actor Idris Elba announced that he has contracted the Chinese coronavirus. He told fans via social media that’s he’s feeling fine and urged them not to panic. Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju and Quantum of Solace actress Olga Kurylenko have also contracted the coronavirus.

As for Jared Leto, he concluded his message Tuesday, saying: “Stay inside. Stay safe.”

Namaste, Jared. Namaste.
