Reality television star Beth Chapman, who is married to Duane from the television series Dog the Bounty Hunter, is in a medically-induced coma at a hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, the family said in a statement Saturday.
The 51-year-old, who has had a long struggle with cancer, was admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU) at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
Duane Chapman tweeted early Saturday morning that he wanted everyone to pray for Beth:
Beth Chapman first received a diagnosis of throat cancer in September 2017 and underwent successful surgery to remove it. Doctors said she was in remission after the surgery, but the cancer recurred and reportedly spread to her lungs.
In November 2018, she had to undergo emergency surgery when doctors removed a tumor in her throat.
Duane Chapman made his claim to fame in 2004 when he launched his television show Dog the Bounty Hunter, where he tracks down criminals. The entire family is known for bounty hunting in Hawaii, and running a bail bond business that is featured on the hit A&E show.
