Actor Chris Evans claims President Donald Trump’s may be “deliberately misleading” his supporters on the question of climate change and suggested that is he simply too ignorant to realize its impact.
President Trump recently downplayed the threat posed by man-made global warming, with cities across America experiencing record-breaking cold temperatures.
“Well, it happened again. Amy Klobuchar announced that she is running for President, talking proudly of fighting global warming while standing in a virtual blizzard of snow, ice and freezing temperatures,” Trump wrote on Monday. “Bad timing. By the end of her speech she looked like a Snowman(woman)!”
“Either you STILL don’t understand that weather is not climate despite literally everyone explaining it to you every time you tweet this ignorance, or you just don’t care, and you’re deliberately misleading your base,” Chris Evans responded. “Which is it?”
Although not as politically active as many of his Hollywood colleagues, the 37-year-old star has repeatedly expressed his opposition to the Trump administration, previously admitting his “rage” and “fury” at the millions who voted for Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
“I feel rage. I feel fury,” Evans told Esquire 2017. “It’s unbelievable. People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame. They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry. Hear someone say that Washington sucks. They just want something new without actually understanding. I mean, guys like Steve Bannon—Steve Bannon!—this man has no place in politics.”
