Rapper Cardi B said in a new interview that while she is interested in politics, she doesn’t talk about her views much publicly because she’s scared that the government might try to “get rid” of her.

“I’ve always been interested in politics but, the thing is…now I gotta, like, be careful what I say you know,” Cardi B told late night host Jimmy Kimmel.

Kimmel then asked the rapper why she feels like she has to be careful about what she says.

“You know, if I make certain points I be feeling like the government’s gonna say, like, ‘this girl be up to something, we might have to get rid of her,'” she responded.

Kimmel then suggested that Cardi B could run for mayor of New York City and win.

The 26-year-old artist has occasionally made political statements, suggesting mixed messages. In March, she made a video where she complained about paying so much in taxes, saying, “I want to know what you’re doing with my fucking tax money, you know what I’m saying? Like, when you donate, like, to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates about what they’re doing with your donation.”

“I want to know what you’re doing with my fucking tax money, because I’m from New York where the streets are always dirty, it’s been voted the dirtiest city in America,” she continued.

However, Bronx rapper isn’t exactly a fan of President Trump. In an interview published in June, she called him a “madman” and said that President Trump has “almost made a crazy civil war between the blacks and the whites” in America.
