Marilyn Manson Pretends to Shoot Concert Audience on Same Day as Texas Church Shooting

Rocker Marilyn Manson pointed a fake rifle at concertgoers during a November 5 performance in San Bernardino, California, nearly two years after two terrorists used real rifles to cut down 14 people in a gun free zone on December 2, 2015.

According to TMZ, Manson pulled the rifle while singing “We Know Where You F***ing Live.” The rocker pulled his on-stage stunt on the same day that a mass shooting took place near San Antonio, Texas, which left 27 people dead and dozens injured.

The fake rifle was made to resemble an AR-15 with a 30-round magazine. Fox News reports that Manson kept the gun on the stage throughout the concert, moving it from place to place.

Ironically, it was nearly two months ago that Manson blamed the 1999 Columbine school shooting for destroying his career. In an interview with the Guardian, Manson expressed his anger over censorship of his new album.

He mentioned that censored versions of his new album were suggested for all U.S. Walmart sales. [Such censorship] denies the legitimacy of it,” He said. “If your parents give you money to buy a clean version of my record at Walmart, you might as well go there, buy a gun instead, take it into your own hands, do whatever you want.”

Manson added, “Give them the money and let them make their own choice: guns or records. If [the Columbine killers] had just bought my records, they would be better off. Certain people blame me for the shootings at schools – I think my numbers are low, and hopefully they go up on this record.” After a bit of rambling he said, “Honestly, the Columbine era destroyed my entire career at the time.”

The Guardian reporter talked of being required to meet Manson in a dark room which was very cold, and described how the rocker greeted him with a fake gun:

I have not been warned that Manson will be hiding behind his hotel room door, from where he will jump out – black-clad, in full slap – pointing a gun at the back of my neck. Not, it transpires, a real gun, but a realistic enough replica for me to greet him with a startled bark of, “What the f*ck do you think you’re doing?” rather than the more traditional “hello”. Manson laughs, shakes my hand and asks if I’d like a beer.
