Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer Monday morning for Blade Runner 2049, the long-gestating sequel to the 1982 original.
Harrison Ford is back for the follow-up, reprising his original role as Rick Deckard, while from the looks of the trailer, Ryan Gosling’s character has taken over Deckard’s old replicant-hunting job.
“Replicants are like any other machine; they are either a benefit or a hazard,” Deckard says in the trailer. “If they are a benefit, it’s not my problem.”
Blade Runner 2049 is executive produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner) and directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario). The film co-stars Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Ana de Armas and Mackenzie Davis.
The film hits theaters October 6, 2017.
