White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon made a brief cameo on Comedy Central’s South Park during Wednesday night’s episode.
An animated Bannon reassures an animated White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus that Mr. Garrison’s transition to the White House will go smoothly.
“All indications are that his transition is going to be fine,” Bannon tells Preibus.
Wednesday night’s episode, “Members Only,” saw Mr. Garrison, who plays the show’s Trump character, begin to take revenge on those who wronged him on his way to the presidency. The episode also saw Garrison being given a tour of the Pentagon, during which he expressed his delight at being handed the nuclear football.
“Love me some football,” Garrison said.
The 20th season of Comedy Central’s hit animated sitcom has spoofed this year’s presidential election through the first eight episodes of its planned ten-episode run.
The first episode introduced the two candidates; Garrison (playing Trump), whom the show referred to as “Giant Douche,” and Hillary Clinton, or “Turd Sandwich.”
The show also memorably skewered San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the National Anthem this season.
