Some of Hollywood and Broadway’s biggest stars are set to headline a major fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, hosted by legendary actor-comedian Billy Crystal in New York City.
The Democratic presidential nominee is not expected to be in attendance at the October 17 event, but her daughter Chelsea Clinton will be there, along with a slew of A-list talent coming out to show their support.
Those attending the $45 to $10,000 event at the St. James Theatre can expect to see performances by Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, actress Julia Roberts, actor Hugh Jackman, and Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Sarah Jessica Parker — all performing duets.
The star-studded showcase is being co-produced by longtime Clinton supporter Harvey Weinstein, who hosted a $33,000 per-person “dinner and conversation” fundraiser at his New York City home for Clinton in June.
Other performances and appearances are expected from Matthew Broderick, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Academy Award winner Helen Mirren.
Crystal, a longtime Clinton confidant, co-hosted a 60th birthday fundraiser for Hillary Clinton during her failed White House run in 2008. It was at that event that Crystal confessed, according to Reuters, that Clinton’s 2008 bid was one of the few times in his life that he had been openly political.
Throughout this campaign, Clinton has relied heavily on the support of her high-powered allies in Hollywood to help her haul in campaign cash. The event in October, dubbed the “Stronger Together” fundraiser, is no different.
Also expected to participate are singer Josh Groban, actress Angela Bassett, and actor Neil Patrick Harris.
Along with Weinstein, Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz, Jordan Roth, and Richie are producing the event.
