Disney released the trailer for its much-anticipated animated film Moana last week.
The film stars Dwayne Johnson as Maui, a demi-god who must accompany the young Moana (played by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho) on a mission to reach her family on a far-away island.
The soundtrack for the film was composed by 11-time Tony-winner and Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Alan Tudyk and Phillipa Soo co-star.
Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) co-direct off of a script they wrote with Jared Bush, Pamela Ribon and Taika Waititi.
Moana is in theaters November 23.
Disney found the cure for Hollywood’s “sequel-itis” at the box office last weekend with its latest animated offering, Finding Dory, which took in a record-breaking $136 million in its first four days of release.
