Marvel released the first trailer for its upcoming supernatural superhero movie Doctor Strange last week, which finds Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) stepping into the role of Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who takes up the mantle of Earth’s protector as the Supreme Sorcerer.
Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Baron Mordo, Strange’s arch-nemesis, and Tilda Swinton co-stars as The Ancient One, the doctor’s mentor. News of Swinton’s casting caused a stir on the Internet last May, because the Ancient One is an Asian man in the comic books.
Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg also star.
Doctor Strange was directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister) off of a script from C. Robert Cargill.
The movie hits theaters November 4.
